Human Rights Charter — Nine Core Principles

DONG-A Specialty Chemical Co., Ltd. (DASCO) has established and implements a ‘Human Rights Charter’ and ‘Human Rights Policy’ grounded in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights · the UN Guiding Principles (UNGPs) · the ILO Core Conventions · and the OECD Due Diligence Guidance. This Charter applies to all employees of the company (including both regular and non-regular workers), to all of its sites at home and abroad, to its subsidiaries and joint ventures, and across its entire supply chain.

Non-Discrimination
We do not discriminate on the basis of gender, race, ethnicity, nationality, religion, disability, age, family status, social standing, political opinion, or similar grounds, and we respond to confirmed cases of discrimination with zero tolerance.

No Harassment in the Workplace
We prohibit any physical or psychological abuse — including sexual harassment, bullying, and intimidation — that exploits one’s position in the workplace.

Compliance with Working Conditions
We comply with statutory working hours, pay fair compensation together with a pay statement, and provide training opportunities and an appropriate working environment.

Humane Treatment
We respect privacy and rigorously protect personal data, and we do not engage in coercion, abuse, or unreasonable treatment.

Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining
We respect labor-relations laws and provide ample opportunities for communication.

No Forced or Child Labor
We do not compel work against an individual’s free will, and we prohibit the employment of children under the age of 15.

Occupational Safety
We inspect facilities, equipment, and tools on a regular basis and maintain measures to prevent physical and psychological hazards, along with follow-up management.

Protecting the Human Rights of Local Residents
We protect local residents’ rights to safety and health and their freedom of residence.

Protecting the Human Rights of Customers
We give the highest priority to protecting customers’ lives, health, and property, and we take every measure to safeguard their personal data.

No-Child-Labor Policy

Across all areas of its operations, DONG-A Specialty Chemical Co., Ltd. strictly prohibits child labor (anyone under the age of 15, including those under 18 who are still completing compulsory education).

Safety & Health

In compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and related regulations, DONG-A Specialty Chemical Co., Ltd. protects the safety and health of employees on its sites and prevents industrial accidents. For chemical, physical, and biological hazards (fire, electricity, chemical substances, vehicles, falls, entrapment, slips, and the like), we carry out systematic safety management — providing protective equipment, posting safety information in the workplace, designing processes preventively, performing regular maintenance, installing safety devices (alarms, cut-offs, and guard barriers), conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and accident-case safety training, and encouraging workers to raise concerns freely.

Health activities — We provide clean workplaces, drinking water, and restrooms, hygienic food-preparation and storage facilities, and dining facilities; employee dormitories ensure cleanliness and safety, emergency exits, hot water, adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation, and secure individual storage facilities.

Code of Conduct for Business Partners

DONG-A Specialty Chemical Co., Ltd. expects a high standard of operations regarding the working environment at its partners’ sites and requires compliance with its Code of Conduct for Business Partners. In providing products and services, partners must work to ensure a safe working environment for their workers, respect for human rights, environmental conservation, and ethical management; violations may result in disadvantages in the business relationship.
