Human Rights Charter — Nine Core Principles
DONG-A Specialty Chemical Co., Ltd. (DASCO) has established and implements a ‘Human Rights Charter’ and ‘Human Rights Policy’ grounded in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights · the UN Guiding Principles (UNGPs) · the ILO Core Conventions · and the OECD Due Diligence Guidance. This Charter applies to all employees of the company (including both regular and non-regular workers), to all of its sites at home and abroad, to its subsidiaries and joint ventures, and across its entire supply chain.
No-Child-Labor Policy
Across all areas of its operations, DONG-A Specialty Chemical Co., Ltd. strictly prohibits child labor (anyone under the age of 15, including those under 18 who are still completing compulsory education).
- At hiring, we rigorously verify, using official documents such as a certified copy of the resident registration and an ID card, that the applicant has reached the statutory minimum employment age of 15.
- When employing young workers aged 15 to under 18, we prohibit night, holiday, and hazardous or dangerous work, and ensure their hours do not exceed 7 hours per day and 35 hours per week.
- If child labor is suspected or discovered, we immediately investigate, halt the work, and take protective measures, and we ensure participation in compulsory education and vocational training programs.
- Upon reaching the lawful age, the individual is guaranteed the opportunity to be re-employed at the same site.

Across all human-resources and operational processes — including hiring, promotion, training, compensation, and welfare benefits — DONG-A Specialty Chemical Co., Ltd. does not discriminate on grounds such as gender, race, skin color, nationality, ethnicity, region of origin, disability, age, family relationships, pregnancy and childbirth, social standing, religion, educational background, or political opinion, and by guaranteeing fairness and equality, it builds an organizational culture that respects the diversity of its employees.
Safety & Health
In compliance with the Occupational Safety and Health Act and related regulations, DONG-A Specialty Chemical Co., Ltd. protects the safety and health of employees on its sites and prevents industrial accidents. For chemical, physical, and biological hazards (fire, electricity, chemical substances, vehicles, falls, entrapment, slips, and the like), we carry out systematic safety management — providing protective equipment, posting safety information in the workplace, designing processes preventively, performing regular maintenance, installing safety devices (alarms, cut-offs, and guard barriers), conducting regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and accident-case safety training, and encouraging workers to raise concerns freely.
Health activities — We provide clean workplaces, drinking water, and restrooms, hygienic food-preparation and storage facilities, and dining facilities; employee dormitories ensure cleanliness and safety, emergency exits, hot water, adequate lighting, heating, and ventilation, and secure individual storage facilities.

In providing products and services, partners must work to ensure a safe working environment for their workers, respect for human rights, environmental conservation, and ethical management; violations may result in disadvantages in the business relationship.
