Message from the CEO

DONG-A Specialty Chemical Co., Ltd. (DASCO) supplies specialty automotive chemicals — antifreeze, brake fluid, lubricants, and washer fluid — and has built the trust of customers and society over decades.

Now that climate risk and sustainability have become central themes for industry, we have established a dedicated ESG framework to practice responsible management across the environmental, social, and governance domains, and we have aligned our policies with international standards including the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the ILO core conventions, and the OECD due diligence guidelines.

We communicate transparently with all stakeholders — suppliers, employees, customers, and local communities — and we will regularly disclose our commitments through this website.

Environmental Management Policy Framework

Through the Environmental Management Policy (DGP-0101), the Environmental Management Guidelines (DGP-0110), the Eco-friendly Policy (DGP-0108), and the Environmental Management Manual (DGP-0107), we clarify the principles and operating procedures of our environmental management.

These policies apply equally to all employees and suppliers across our sites, and we maintain alignment with international standards through regular review and updates.

Greenhouse Gas Reduction — Scope 1·2

In accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Policy (DGP-0102), we established an inventory using 2022 as the base year and set reduction targets based on absolute emissions.

Short-term target (2025) — a 3% reduction versus the base year, through the transition to low-emission vehicles and improvements in energy efficiency.

Mid-term target (2030) — an 8% reduction versus the base year, through the transition to renewable energy and greener processes.

Air · Water · Waste · Chemical Substances

Under the Air Quality Management Procedure (DGP-0103), we have obtained permits for emission and abatement facilities under the Clean Air Conservation Act, and we monitor NOx, SOx, dust, and VOCs in real time via TMS (automatic measuring instruments). Abatement facilities such as adsorption towers, electrostatic precipitators, and bag filters are managed through inspection logs and daily operating records.

Under the Water Management Procedure (DGP-0105), groundwater is used as process water, and data is collected and managed across the entire intake, use, and discharge cycle. Wastewater is processed by outside contractors registered with the Ministry of Environment.

Under the Waste Management Procedure (DGP-0104), general and designated waste are classified, and designated waste is stored separately and appropriately in an independent storage area. From generation to final disposal, records are kept and preserved in the Ministry of Environment’s “Allbaro System.”

Chemical substances handled in quantities of one tonne or more per year are registered and managed under K-REACH, and our inventory is updated at least once a year. MSDS are kept on site so that workers always have access, and prior hazard assessments are conducted before introducing any new substance or new process.
