Message from the CEO
DONG-A Specialty Chemical Co., Ltd. (DASCO) supplies specialty automotive chemicals — antifreeze, brake fluid, lubricants, and washer fluid — and has built the trust of customers and society over decades.
Now that climate risk and sustainability have become central themes for industry, we have established a dedicated ESG framework to practice responsible management across the environmental, social, and governance domains, and we have aligned our policies with international standards including the Ten Principles of the UN Global Compact, the UN Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights (UNGPs), the ILO core conventions, and the OECD due diligence guidelines.
We communicate transparently with all stakeholders — suppliers, employees, customers, and local communities — and we will regularly disclose our commitments through this website.

Report Body.
Our Environmental Commitment
To minimize the environmental impact that may arise from automotive chemical manufacturing processes, we have established a framework of policies, manuals, and procedures, and manage it through on-site measurement monitoring and independent third-party verification.
Environmental Management Policy Framework
Through the Environmental Management Policy (DGP-0101), the Environmental Management Guidelines (DGP-0110), the Eco-friendly Policy (DGP-0108), and the Environmental Management Manual (DGP-0107), we clarify the principles and operating procedures of our environmental management.
These policies apply equally to all employees and suppliers across our sites, and we maintain alignment with international standards through regular review and updates.
Greenhouse Gas Reduction — Scope 1·2
In accordance with the Greenhouse Gas Reduction Policy (DGP-0102), we established an inventory using 2022 as the base year and set reduction targets based on absolute emissions.
Short-term target (2025) — a 3% reduction versus the base year, through the transition to low-emission vehicles and improvements in energy efficiency.
Mid-term target (2030) — an 8% reduction versus the base year, through the transition to renewable energy and greener processes.
Air · Water · Waste · Chemical Substances
Under the Air Quality Management Procedure (DGP-0103), we have obtained permits for emission and abatement facilities under the Clean Air Conservation Act, and we monitor NOx, SOx, dust, and VOCs in real time via TMS (automatic measuring instruments). Abatement facilities such as adsorption towers, electrostatic precipitators, and bag filters are managed through inspection logs and daily operating records.
Under the Water Management Procedure (DGP-0105), groundwater is used as process water, and data is collected and managed across the entire intake, use, and discharge cycle. Wastewater is processed by outside contractors registered with the Ministry of Environment.
Under the Waste Management Procedure (DGP-0104), general and designated waste are classified, and designated waste is stored separately and appropriately in an independent storage area. From generation to final disposal, records are kept and preserved in the Ministry of Environment’s “Allbaro System.”
Chemical substances handled in quantities of one tonne or more per year are registered and managed under K-REACH, and our inventory is updated at least once a year. MSDS are kept on site so that workers always have access, and prior hazard assessments are conducted before introducing any new substance or new process.
Biodiversity
In accordance with the Biodiversity Conservation Area Management Guideline (DGP-0106) and the Biodiversity Policy (DGP-0109), we identify and manage conservation areas near our sites and operate procedures to prevent chemical leaks and spills.
We separately disclose related activities through the Biodiversity Sustainability Report (DGP-0111).
People and Society
We respect the human rights of our employees, suppliers, customers, and local communities, and work to create a safe workplace and a fair trading environment.
Nine Principles of Human Rights Management
Through the Human Rights Policy (DGP-0201) and the Human Rights Charter (DGC-0213), we declare our nine guiding principles.
① Prohibition of discrimination · ② Prohibition of workplace harassment · ③ Compliance with working conditions · ④ Humane treatment · ⑤ Freedom of association and collective bargaining · ⑥ Prohibition of forced and child labor · ⑦ Assurance of industrial safety · ⑧ Protection of the human rights of local residents · ⑨ Protection of customers’ human rights.
We respond to confirmed cases of discrimination or harassment with zero tolerance, and we strengthen employee awareness through regular human rights training and internal channels.
Occupational Health and Safety Management
In accordance with the Occupational Health and Safety Management Policy (DGP-0205), we regularly inspect facilities, equipment, and tools, and operate measures for the prevention and follow-up management of physical and mental hazards.
For emergency response, we maintain a rapid reporting chain that runs from the in-house health and safety officer (General Affairs Department) to the internal emergency extension and on to the local fire station and the Korea Workers’ Compensation & Welfare Service.
Shared Growth with Suppliers
Through the Supplier Code of Conduct (DGC-0206), we require suppliers to comply with the same standards as DONG-A Specialty Chemical.
Four areas — human rights and labor (prohibition of discrimination, child labor, and forced labor; compliance with working hours; humane treatment; freedom of association) · health and safety · environment · ethics.
Through supplier code of conduct consent procedures and regular inspections, we share ESG responsibility across the entire supply chain.
Prohibition of Conflict Minerals and Child Labor
In accordance with the Conflict Minerals Prohibition Policy (DGP-0215) and the Child Labor Prohibition Policy (DGP-0209), we categorically prohibit the use of minerals from conflict regions and the sourcing of raw materials through child labor, and we require the same standards of our suppliers.
Information Security — Social Domain
Based on the Information Security Policy (DGP-0204), we protect the information of customers, employees, and suppliers. For the detailed operating framework, please refer to the “Governance” chapter.
Through the Internal Information Security Rules (DGP-0210), the Information Security Incident Response Procedure (DGP-0211), and the Information Security Standard Operating Procedure (DGP-0212), we maintain both routine operations and emergency response.
Grievance Handling and Reporting Channels
In accordance with the Grievance Handling Rules (DGP-0216) and the Website Reporting Channel Rules (DGP-0208), we receive and process grievances from employees, suppliers, and customers.
Reports may be submitted anonymously or under one’s real name, and our whistleblower protection rules guarantee confidentiality of identity and prohibition of retaliation.
Personal Information Protection
Through the Consent Form for Collection and Use of Personal Information (DGC-0214), we obtain the data subject’s consent and specify the scope of collection, use, third-party provision, and the retention period.
Upon the expiry of the period stated in the consent form or the period required by law, the information is securely destroyed.
Transparent Governance
Through ethical management, information security, and whistleblower protection, we ensure responsible decision-making and operational transparency.
Eight Principles of the Code of Ethics
Through the Code of Ethics (DGP-0202), we set out principles of conduct across eight areas.
① Prohibition of corruption and bribery · ② Prevention of conflicts of interest · ③ Information protection and security · ④ Anti-money laundering (compliance with the FATF Recommendations) · ⑤ Protection of intellectual property rights · ⑥ Prevention of counterfeit parts · ⑦ Fair trade · ⑧ Compliance with export controls.
We neither accept nor offer bribes — such as improper solicitations, money, or favors — to stakeholders, and where the company’s interests conflict with personal interests, we give the highest priority to the company’s interests.
Fair Trade
In accordance with the Fair Trade Guidelines (DGP-0203), we prohibit the demand of money or goods using a superior trading position and the imposition of unfair trading conditions.
We ensure transparency and fairness in all transactions.
Whistleblower Protection and Ethics Reporting
In accordance with the Whistleblower Protection Rules (DGP-0301), we guarantee the confidentiality of a reporter’s identity and prohibit any disadvantageous measures arising from a report.
Through the Unethical Conduct Reporting Rules (DGP-0302), we receive, investigate, and process cases of ethics violations, and through the Gift Handling Guidelines (DGP-0303), we block the acceptance of gifts that could constitute an improper solicitation.
Information Security Management Framework
Based on the Information Security Policy (DGP-0204), we operate the Internal Information Security Rules (DGP-0210), the Information Security Incident Response Procedure (DGP-0211), and the Information Security Standard Operating Procedure (DGP-0212).
Access to information assets is kept to the minimum necessary for business purposes, applying the principle of least privilege by role. Permissions are revoked immediately upon resignation or personnel reassignment.
Retention periods are five years for contracts and financial records, at least one year for system logs and access records, and, for personal information, the period stated in the consent form or required by law.
Incident response proceeds in the order of detection and reporting → incident classification and containment → establishment and execution of an action plan → follow-up reporting and recurrence prevention, and is reported to the CEO and the CISO.
Stakeholder Consent Procedures
In accordance with the Internal Rules on Stakeholder Consent Procedures (DGP-0207), we operate prior consent and consultation procedures for decisions that affect stakeholders such as suppliers, customers, and local communities.
International Standards Applied.
